History:

This original federal home in the heart of Old Mystic was built in 1800. It has been in the Avery Family since 1840. Build as a single family home it has also been a Multi-Family, Boarding House and now remodeled into an almost new colonial. The original fireplace base was made of bricks from whaling ships called Ballast Bricks and are still stored in the basement. The foundation and steps came from Local Granite. The garage was moved from the Mystic Seaport to the back yard and reassembled in its current location. The original door handles and knobs were restored and other new ones installed to resemble the historic ones.
