Connecticut Waterfront Property is not exclusive to the ocean. South east CT. has waterfront real estate available on rivers, lakes, coves along with Long Island and Fishers Island sound.
Coastal property is in very high demand. With the right location just a view of the water can increase the value of a home extraordinary amounts. Living on the coast will usually cost you more in insurance, taxes and initial price. But the views, beaches, docks and water access all make it worth it in the end.
If you are not someone who needs deep water access you might want to look into living on any of the Rivers, Lakes and Ponds we have in Connecticut. You might be able to find just the right parcel of Water front land at a fraction of the cost of living on the coast.
Some people want easy access to the Ocean, or want a deep water dock right off your back yard. Long slow trips up a river are not acceptable and some boats are to large to fit under some of the bridges. You will need to know what size boats can access your property and what obstructions might prevent boats from reaching your home.
CT Waterfront homes for sale are often difficult to find. Many agents will list a property as being on the water when in fact they only have a small brook or swamp on the property. You really need an agent or Realtor that knows the area well enough to find you what you are looking for in the price range you can afford.
